Back in 2000, I learned that I needed aortic valve replacement. That coupled with other factors of my life, gave me a negative overall outlook on life. The pity party was going strong and I was the only attendee. I don’t recall what the trigger was but, one day I too realized that there were millions of people far worse off than me. I decided to undo the rectal cranial inversion I was saddled with, and bought me a bracelet. The top of the bracelet is engraved “life is good”. The back has the names of my family and our pets. This is my “rubber band” and always buoys me during the occasional case of melancholy. Here is to a happy, healthy, and prosperous coming decade, May your dreams become reality.
